Notorious City pastor James Ng'ang'a of Neno Evangelism Ministries was on Saturday rescued by police in Kikuyu constituency after a mob threatened to lynch him following an accident.
The area residents said that the pastor wanted to flee from the scene of the accident like he always does and they could not allow it to happen.
The pastor was involved in an accident where he hit and scratched a Nissan Matatu, damaging its rear light and side mirror.
According to the Matatu driver, bishop Ng'an'ga was driving on the wrong side of the road somehow lost control after he saw an oncoming vehicle.
A local resident who witnessed the accident said that the matatu which had passengers almost landed into a ditch, while Ng'ang'a attempted to speed away.
Commuters at a nearby bus stop blocked the pastor, forcing him to come out and talk to the matatu driver where he paid some money after they reached an agreement. However the passengers confronted the pastor where he also had to part with some money .
“When he was forced to open the door, we were shocked to learn it was Apostle Ng’ang’a. He said we wanted to talk to the matatu driver only, something which angered people” Kimani said.
Police arrived at the scene before things turned worse and rescued the pastor from the angry mod, who started accusing him of puting others people's lives at risk.
